For you, “best life” might mean something totally different and that is the beauty of this. Sitting down and figuring out what you need to do to create your perfect lifestyle is half the fun. I for one find these habits the most beneficial in my life and have seen a huge reduction in stress and lack of satisfaction by doing these things daily.
Feel free to use this list to inspire you to create your own list of top habits for your best life.
10 Habits to Create your Best Life
1. Drink more water!
Water helps remove toxins from your body and helps improve energy while making you feel full for longer.
2. Exercise daily for 30 mins/day
30 mins of movement daily helps with cognitive functioning, releases endorphins, and helps keep physical illness away!
3. Eat veggies & protein
Veggies and protein help with improved cognitive function and stop sugar spikes which can be a main cause of brain fog and irritability in most people.
4. High quality cocoa to satisfy your sweet tooth
80% real cocoa or more. This ia filled with anti-oxidants and is not as high in sugar as milk chocolate so it is less likely to cause sugar spikes and mood swings.
5. Have a self-car day once a week
Self care is huge!!! People always think well if I want to be happy I’ll help everyone in my life and be selfless and this will bring me joy. Yes, to an extent helping others can help bring you joy but I promise you if you never give anything back to yourself you will be leaving yourself drained. I explain it as the “giving tree syndrome” if you give and give and give and do nothing for yourself you will be left feeling like a worn down stump. Self care once a week can help you center yourself and help you refresh for another week. Plus this shows self-love and self-respect which are huge attributes to living a happy life.
6. Communicate with others daily
Whether is be with family or friends or co-workers, make sure you are conversing with others daily. Talking with others helps us feel more connected in our lives which helps improve self-esteem and overall well-being. People who isolate are more prone to depression, negative self-talk, and anxiety.
7. PLAN baby plan!
Planning is a huge reason for success. Without a plan you are relying on fate and making yourself more prone to disappointment. By planning you are setting goals that need to be completed which helps you feel more productive and creates a positive feedback that drives you to complete more tasks. By planning you are also staying more active which helps improve mood. Remember idle hands and minds can be a dark place for some, but by planning ahead and setting goals you are distracting yourself from negative thoughts which helps improve mood.
I have a whole post on this HERE! Vitamins and supplements play a huge role in helping us function at our best. Some of the main vitamins your should be focusing on for energy and overall improved functioning are all vitamin B’s, magnesium, and iron.
Reading is a great creative outlet and it helps occupy the mind and can be a great tool to distract you from negative thoughts. Plus reading allows you to practice memorizing which helps with memory functioning long term.
Clutter and mess can increase anxiety and cause frustration and feelings of being overwhelmed. By cleaning you are helping to declutter your life and put everything back in it’s place and you will be surprise that your thoughts will start to do the same.
So, as you can see creating you best life can be simple. It’s all about developing healthy habits that will benefit your mind, body, and soul now and in the future. The goal is to feel stress free and organized everyday so that you can move through your days with ease and purpose.
Sometimes the hardest part about starting a new routine is the stress that comes with it, which is why I wrote a whole post on stress relief HERE. Other times we simply struggle to make more time for ourselves but, don’t worry, I wrote a post about that too HERE! So, just focus on getting started now so you can get one step closer to your best life!
I hope you find this post helpful and try developing some more healthy habits to add to your life.
