My husband and I have been wanting to share this news with you guys for so long. But we had to wait till everything was in order before announcing. So now that everything is ready to go we can finally share the news!!!
October 13th, 2017 officially marked 8 years my husband and I have been together. Four of those years have been of marriage. We got married on October, 13th, 2013. I know that’s a lot of 13’s. If you didn’t see our very first Marriage Monday post, then make sure you go check it out because we explain everything about why we chose that number and more random Q&A’s. Anyways…. this year, our wedding anniversary landed on a Friday the 13th, which made it extra special!
I know that title sounds crazy and completely unlikely, but I swear these little gift ideas are all under $5! The inspiration for this post is that my husband birthday is actually TODAY (yay!!) and we have been trying this new thing where all the gifts we get each other must be under $10, so we can save money. And I got to tell you, I have been LOVING THIS!! It really forces you to get creative and come up with cute ideas instead of just buying a big gift. I have found that most of the time these gifts are super memorable and show so much thought, which is why I absolutely love doing this!
Some examples of things I have done in the past are cooking my husband’s favorite dinner or dessert. Nothing super creative, but you know what they say… the way to your man’s heart is through his stomach, and I must agree lol. But for my husband’s birthday this year I really wanted to get creative and do something cute and different. So here are some of the creative little ideas I came up with all for under $5!
So, where did I find inspiration for these ideas? Pinterest! Pinterest! Pinterest! This site has been great at helping me come up with all these incredible ideas, so definitely check there for some more inspiration! But in the meantime, these are some of my favorites!
OK here it is, my list of cute ideas for under $5.

As I’m sure many people already know marriage is something you have to be willing to constantly work at. Marriage is more than just throwing a wedding and starting a family, it’s about choosing one person who you want to grow with and cherish for the rest of your life. And just like anything else, you can’t expect to never work at it, and everything to be perfect. Now, I’m not saying marriage is all work and no fun. Quite the opposite actually. I think half the fun of marriage is finding ways you can improve your relationship and make it even better than the day before, cause in the end it’s your spouse and you. Kids, pets, friends, they will all come and go but your spouse is that one person who will always be there with you, so it’s important to show your marriage the attention and love it deserves.
That being said, today’s marriage post is all about why dating your husband/spouse is a great way to grow your marriage. Now I just want to say, I am no marriage expert nor am I trying to be one. I just want to share with all of you the things that have worked for my marriage, and who knows maybe it’ll work for you too!
Hey everyone! So I’m super excited for this post because this is something I have been wanting to dive into and talk about since the beginning.
The reason I decided I wanted to start a blog was because one day my husband and I were sitting on the couch after we had just gotten back from a vacation and I said “let’s see all the pictures we took”. We pulled out our phones and combined between the 2 of us we had only taken 10 pictures! 10!? A whole vacation and we only took 10 pictures!? I could have sworn in my head we took more but there was the proof right in front of us. I was so bummed because we did so many great activities and I planned out all my outfits, and what did I have to look back and remember it by? Nada. I decided right then I wanted to create something that can be like a memory bank for us. For all our travels, our amazing moments in life that I want to cherish, and just fun silly everyday stuff. I wanted to make myself accountable for documenting our memories so that we had something to look back on later in life and reminisce. THAT’s why I started this blog, that and because I’ve always loved writing and find it to be such a great creative release.
