Our Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Fall = Pumpkin Patch fun!

By far one of my favorite traditions that Jesse and I have is going to the local pumpkin patch and picking out the perfect pumpkin to decorate for the season. The local patch we go to is called Flamingo Road Nursery & Farmer’s Market (in south FL) and it’s such a cute little area with a ton of land and a bunch of pumpkins to choose from.

I especially love that they have a smaller little pumpkin patch area for the kids with baby pumpkins in it. The little pumpkin patch is also filled with hay and decorated like a fall fantasy which makes this the perfect place to snap a couple of cute pictures. Which of course, I did! πŸ˜†

I also love that this little patch has it’s own farmer’s market, where they sell all the food they grow there and they make some of the most incredible desserts and breads there too. Heavenly delicious!

Plus, if you bring the whole family they have little areas set up everywhere to take the perfect Fall family portrait. They also make sure to add little special season touches to make the experience even better by selling frozen apple cider right by the pumpkin patch to cool off from these hot FL days. This place just really goes all out for the season, and I am so grateful because it has become one of my favorite things to do every year! If you live in the area definitely check it out and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with this little south FL gem.

As for the pumpkin decorating goes, we normally do something different every year. For the first couple of years we went all out and carved some crazy complicated designs. Then our lives got really busy and we decided just decorating the outside of the pumpkin was easier. πŸ˜„ If I can find some pictures I’ll definitely do a post with them, because I’m telling you these pumpkins were works of art.

We normally display our pumpkins in the house until Halloween night, where we then put them out by the front door all lit up for when all the tricker-treaters come. Though, since we live in a smaller college area we normally don’t get many tricker-treaters, so we normally go to my mother-in-laws house and camp-out in the front drive way all decked out with halloween candy and our pumpkins. We of course, normally end up eating half the candy πŸ˜‚ but hey it’s the thought that counts, right?!

You can check out some of my favorite pictures from our trip below!

So as you can see the pumpkin patch to me is just the perfect way to kick off the Fall/Halloween season! What are some of your favorite things to do during Fall?
